As an active Vero Beach resident, Laura is involved with the Children's Ministry with Oceans Unite Christian Centre, and helps promote the Walk to Remember fundraiser for the Alzheimer's & Parkinson Associations.
Laura was born in a small town in New York and raised in Vermont. After graduating from high school, she left the cold northeast to join her father who had relocated to Florida. She studied drama, dance and journalism at Palm Beach State College before earning her liberal arts degree. She began teaching Sunday school in the local Church of God. She met and married her husband and they started their family. When her husband's job relocated the family to New York, Laura ran a home daycare business for several years before working for the campus preschool of Binghamton University. Through it all, both she and her husband remained in teaching and leadership positions in their local church.
In 2015, Laura and her husband decided to move to Vero Beach since two of their three children were already here. She enjoys hiking, swimming, walking the beach, reading and crafts, and spending time with the family.
